Most of you may know now that Pudding qualified for Crufts March 2010.

I'm currently in Malta for Christmas and some winter sun.

My dilemma is how to get Puddi to the show in the UK.

Do I drive for four days and make three sea crossings on ferries which will be very tiring and very expensive OR do I fly her there in Cargo, it's a 3hr flight.

If I could fly her in the cabin I wouldn't be writing this, that would be my number one option. I don't think Air Malta will fly a dog in the cabin and other airlines are the low budget ones, Easyjet, Ryan Air etc.

I hear lots of horror stories about pugs in cargo but I know those of you importing into Australia and New Zealand must be flying them there.

Thoughts please, this dilemma is adding to my anxiety.

We aren't allowed to travel dogs in the cabin at all- so for Aussie's the only way to move a dog quickly from one place to another is by plane. For exapmple if somone from Sydney wanted to go to the Perth Royal show, it is a 4 hour flight - to far to drive $ÊR$%

How long is the direct flight? As the show is at the end of winter I dont t hink that heat should be an issue - but if it is warming up in Malta, take an early morning flight!

This is very exciting for you!! Plane

It is very exciting for me because there were only 4 tickets to Crufts.

The winner of Junior Dog, Junior Bitch, Best dog and Best Bitch. Had Pudding been a month younger she would have been too young to compete in the Junior Bitch class and next year she'll be too old and would have to win Best Bitch which is quite a fete. So this may be my one and only chance to exhibit at Crufts. Got to grab it with both hands.

No it won't be that warm in Malta to be a problem. The flight is early morning and direct it takes 2.45 to 3hrs.

Thanks for your advice Fliss.

Plane

3 hours is not a long time, I am sure Pudding would just sleep through the trip...

I was in Malta a few years ago, I have friends there, lovely place ....
Our flights in and out were fantastic those pilots are wonderful and the planes are so clean I am sure Pudding would be taken care of very well.

When King come in it was 36 hour flight with 3 stop overs!! And he bounced out of his crate as if is was a 20 minute flight.. and he also went from snow to our Feb heat! Im sure she will be fine on a 3 hour flight.. !!

Twilightzone I know its daunting!!
